North Star Shipping is the only wholly owned UK company engaged in providing emergency response and rescue vessels, and is one of the largest with the youngest fleet in the North Sea. It is a division of family-owned Craig Group, a global shipping and energy services firm which is headquartered in Aberdeen and provides employment for more than 1,000 people.

A £130million investment programme has resulted in the addition of 16 new vessels to its fleet with six in construction. These are a mix of offshore support, platform supply, tanker assist, ROV survey and emergency response and rescue vessels (ERRVs).
